Clergy Chicks Beach Retreat

April 29-May 2, 2019

Clearwater Beach, Florida

ATTENTION: REGISTRATION NOW CLOSED

Calling all Clergy Chicks!

Clergy Chicks will gather from near and far for rest and renewal beside the top-rated sands of Clearwater Beach, Florida. All women in ministry are invited to attend—pastors, chaplains, pastoral counselors, seminarians—if you're a Clergy Chick, this getaway is for you! Check back often for program updates.

call for manuscripts!

We are excited to invite you to submit your sermon manuscript for our sermon contest! Our theme will be “United in Divine Love.” We invite you to write your sermon based on either of the following Sunday's Revised Common Lectionary texts (Psalm 98 or John 15:9-17) or other holy writing of your choice that is in keeping with the theme. Submitted sermons will be read by the Clergy Chicks Retreat Planning Team and a Professor of Homiletics in a double-blind method. We’ll have two winners: 1) Clergy and 2) Seminary Student. The chosen sermons will be announced at the reception on Monday evening. The winner of the clergy competition will have the honor of preaching for our inter-faith worship on Tuesday night; the winner among seminarians will receive a scholarship. Both will receive special gifts and bragging rights! No matter what, you'll be a winner because you'll return home refreshed, renewed, and with your sermon done! You must register before submitting your manuscript. Deadline: April 7, 2019.

Restorative Sessions

Come away from rush and hurry to the stillness of God’s peace.
— Marva J. Dawn

Part of why we gather as Clergy Chicks is to claim respite from the demands of ministry. With that in mind, Rev. Amy Branch-Lambert will lead us in two restorative sessions. For over 20 years, Amy has served as a chaplain in the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas area. As a part of her ministry, Amy leads groups in restorative practice, helping individuals discover deeper peace and greater wellbeing. A Certified Daring Way Facilitator, Amy draws on the research of Brené Brown to teach others how to live wholeheartedly. Our hope is that you will come away from the retreat refreshed and restored—ready to continue with renewed energy the good work to which you have been called.

cost

The cost for the retreat is $150 which includes: reception, two lunches, plenary sessions, workshops, worship, a sunset dinner cruise, and a Clergy Chicks t-shirt! Seminarians can register for a discounted rate of $100.
